Why use VPS Servers for Autotrading with Metatrader |
|
If there is anything I have learned from 14 years on the internet it is that computers, and networks are never going to be 100% realible. Add this to the fact that a lot of us now rely 100% on the internet for our livelihood and you don't need to be Einstein to realize we have a problem. With Automated Forex trading operating 24 hours a day, 5 days a week any interruptions in computer availability may well result in missed trading opportunities or a severe loss of funds. All of which makes it easy to justify spending a few dollars on a VPS to give yourself a degree of redundancy which this type of trading requires. When we consider mission critical things like online trading then the only real solution is to trade using a VPS (Virtual Private Server). This gives us the best sort of protection available, given that we probably don't want to spend $20 million dollars on a state of the art data center. Using a VPS gives the level of redundancy required for online trading with minimal expense. Typically data centers are manned 24/7 with double or triple levels of redundancy such as diesel generators, and alternative electricity providers. They are kept secure, and at a constant temperature to ensure the reliable operation of the hardware. Great but how does a VPS work? Really it is quite simple, using a Windows application called "Remote Desktop" you can easily access your remote server 24/7. Remote Desktop comes standard with all variations of Windows and applications are also available for Mac users and users of most mobile devices. Once you connect to the VPS, you are confronted by a Windows desktop much the same as what you have on your desk at home or work. Your can install the brokers software much the same as you would on a normal PC. Forex VPS supplies VPS built specifically for the purpose of Automated Forex Trading.
